In this final project, the author mainly focuses on family affection and love. The creation of the graphic novel is based on the origin of her grandma’s name. Xiaozhao Ban chose this topic because she has never tried it before, it required focus not only on the drawing, but also on storytelling and narrative. In addition, she thought the combination of many graphics and texts in one page could give readers a richer visual experience, such as feeling the changes of time, movement and emotion. She hopes that through this work, audiences can feel the fluctuations in their hearts, and let them feel the power of family affection from the book.
