My work has been a movement to put life back into a forgotten form of self expression, My own family’s heritage which is the taino tribe from Jamaica. I have based all my research around different tribes in the Native American community and expanded my understanding of their interests, life styles and religions / belief systems. Lately I have found myself tapping into the more spiritual side of myself to keep myself grounded and make decisions in regards to my collection. For me this has felt very freeing and allowed me to be able to focus and direct my energy into what I’m passionate about. Which is fashion but not only creating clothes but making people feel certain things just by watching my collection such as calm, And happiness. Over the past few months I have felt very close to my ancestors and family doing this project and learnt very interesting things about not only people that have come before me about myself too.
