The closure of the hospitality industry during the Covid-19 pandemic had a profound and negative effect on both the economy and people’s wellbeing. Sammy Gibson‘s Cocoon proposes a solution to the lockdown of bars, restaurants and pubs, allowing these venues to conform with government guidance and slow transmission rates of Covid-19 whilst remaining open. Gibson also suggests how the design be manipulated to accommodate patrons when Covid-19 is under control
