Located in a charming neighbourhood, Sellers Wheel has a unique vibe that inspired Alicia Siu Meng to create a space that would seamlessly blend in with the community. Drawing on her roots and upbringing on the island of Mallorca, she infused her appreciation for Mediterranean design and lifestyle into the new space, a café and learning hub. This allowed her to create a space that feels both authentic and contemporary, with warm colours, natural textures and a strong focus on community.
To enhance the space’s learning aspect, she created a zone that can be adapted into a masterclass area and a collaborative zone that people can book as a group for activities. The café serves as a welcoming hub where people can gather, relax and chat over drinks.
The final space embodies the designer’s culture and career aspirations, a place where people can come together to learn, socialise and be inspired. Alicia Siu Meng shared, “I believe that such a space is essential in today’s world, where people crave a sense of belonging and a space where they can connect with others while pursuing their personal and professional goals. Ultimately, my goal is to create an environment where people feel comfortable and inspired to learn and grow, both as individuals and as a community.”
