Alice Exley’s has restyled a well-known high street brand to explore the existing discrimination against those with visible differences and disabilities within the fashion industry. Her dissertation research suggested that people are unaware that this discrimination and lack of representation even exists, so this makes it much harder to address.
With disabled and different models under-represented in many mainstream fashion campaigns, Exley styled models in high street clothing from ZARA and photographed them in an outdoor setting. A separate photoshoot was completed with one of the models, acting as a ‘Meet the Model’ section to the campaign. This was based within a boxing ring celebrating the models own personality and passion. These images are really powerful and moving, complimenting the rest of the campaign imagery and giving insight into the model’s life.
