Caspa (Collision Avoidance System for Preventing Accidents) is a direct response to the issue of collisions between skiers. The prevalence and seriousness of this problem quickly revealed itself after several recent deaths became a talking point in the news and throughout internet forums.

The problem arises from an increasing culture of speed and aggression driven by societal shifts, shorter, faster skis and more optimised equipment. With some skiers losing control and others simply unaware of who or what is around them, accidents are commonplace and often serious. Casper’s aim is to bring people out of tunnel vision and draw attention to what is going on around them.
