TailTrail

Tail Trail is a service designed to improve dog health and to encourage dog owners to be more active with their dogs.

The service includes a dog tag for a collar, a dog bowl system with a built-in weighing scale to measure the dog’s food intake and both of these are linked to an App that tracks the activity such as steps, sleep, distance, live location, resting periods, food intake, their own personal calendar and a feature which allows them to connect with friends to see their activity.

Obesity in Dogs is becoming an increased issue with dogs across the world therefore TailTrails main focus is to motivate dog owners to increase their activity with dogs by increasing the number of walks or by training them in particular ways.

All records are designed to be stored, which can allow the users to show the results to their vets to help gain a deeper understanding of their dog’s health and could also help to diagnose them with any potential underlying health issues concerning weight; for example if their activity or diet has not changed.

Tail Trail is designed to benefit both dog and owner to act as motivation to keep healthy, active and safe. Since the COVID-19 pandemic the rate of dog theft has increased tremendously therefore a live location for the dog is imported into the Tag, which is accesible on the App to help owners have knowledge of their dog’s whereabouts at all times.

Since lockdown thousands of first-time dog owners purchased a “lockdown puppy” to keep them company over the pandemic where alot of owners were unsure or unprepared to own a dog. There is a tips page on the App which allows the dog owners to gain further insight into how to take care of their dog and any preparations they should take before purchasing a dog or welcoming a puppy into their home.
