Re-Experience

Smell is one of the most underappreciated and underutilised senses used in modern product design. The scent is highly emotive and gives us a taste of nostalgia. Arunava Biswas’s Re-Experience combines the essence of smell in the emotionless digital metaverse. What if we could smell place in the digitally created metaverse and enjoy what technology offers?

Re-experience uses smell capsules to allow users to smell the metaverse and have a multi-sensory experience. The smell is diffused into the helmet fabric, allowing the user ventilation and aroma to be experienced in the metaverse.

Humans can experience five essential aromas: Woody, Fragrant, Sweet, Chemical, and Decay. These five essential aromas combine to make the multi-sensory metaverse.
