HOW CAN WE HUMANISE ASSISTANCE TECHNOLOGY TO IMPROVE THE CARE OF ELDERLY PEOPLE?

In a world with a rapidly ageing population and an increasing reliance on technology, how can we utilise these advancements to improve the lives of elderly people and bridge the gap between technology and person-centred healthcare?

lumi. aims to overcome the stigma surrounding assistance at an older age by creating a desirable solution that considers both form and function. With its sleek curves and soft textures, lumi’s appearance is a stark contrast to the clinical and clunky existing offerings. lumi. sets out to create a user-friendly, customisable experience to assist those who live independently. Designed to be used daily, vocal recognition technology is masked underneath a handy lighting system, just simply say ‘lumi ’to activate. With the ability to connect elderly people to their loved ones in an emergency, lumi. provides peace of mind for both the user and their caregivers. Providing direct contact with loved ones from any point in the home, lumi. facilitates two-way conversation through either the wall units or lantern.

Consisting of a lantern, multiple wall units and an app for both the user and caregivers, the system is designed to be simply configured and altered to individual needs. The user can input reminders

for appointments, medications and other events to be sent through either their lumi. device or smartphone/tablet.

lumi. is a solution for all of our futures.
