Over four years at university five of Finn Mcgloin Ashman‘s close friends and himself have had a bicycle stolen in the city. Thus sparked the idea to re-design the outdated and inconvenient bicycle lock. DUAL forces individuals to lock their bicycle using correct methods due to its compact storage solution eliminating the need for carrying two separate types of security.

A key aspect was providing a peace of mind for cyclists when locking their bikes in the city, encouraging cycle participation, in an attempt to promote a more sustainable urban future decreasing congestion whilst increasing participation of healthy active lifestyles.
