Eleri Davies’ GlobeJotter tray table is designed to give economy-class air passengers choice in an otherwise basic and confined space. GlobeJotter features a fold down cup holder, a pull-out draw which doubles the size of the table and an adjustable phone stand. Together, these features increase space for passengers by up to two inches and provide a stable platform for inflight beverages and entertainment.

With air travel more popular than ever, airlines are constantly looking at ways to squeeze more passengers to into the same size planes, reducing the size and space between seats, specifically for economy class. Economy class can be restrictive and uncomfortable, discrediting the fact that economy class is the green way to travel.

Davies’ work focuses primarily on the relationship of a product with the user. She is keenly interested in the aviation world, having been involved with the Royal Air Force Air Cadets since the age of 13, winning a flying scholarship (which included 12 hours towards her private pilots licence) and a prestigious place on the International Air Cadet Exchange to Canada. She is now a Cadet Forces Adult Volunteer within the organisation using her knowledge and experience to provide opportunities for the next generation of cadets. Since completing her degree she worked as an intern for Astrid Architects, where she has designed and built their website showcasing their extenseive portfolio of design work.
