Guitar Mentor is a SMART guitar for independent learning.
Fender claim 90% of beginner guitarists abandon the instrument within a year. 63% of players stated that their preferred learning environment was independent, suggesting solitary learning of the guitar needs some attention. Many independent learning methods can be overwhelming and confusing. Finding a learning process which is structured and matches the preferred learning style of the player can be difficult.
Guitar Mentor utilises different psychological learning theories within both the design of the guitar and the app. The design of the guitar is optimised for comfort and includes SMART features such as a voice activated speaker and an integrated LED fretboard. The product guides the player through a structured and focused learning process complementing the player’s musical tastes, aspirations and level, resulting in a more efficient learning process and a more motivated learner, particularly in the early stages of learning.
