In the project Landslide, Thomas Harvey delves into the universal experience of grief, a natural response to loss that we will all encounter at some point in our lives.
Drawing inspiration from Vicki Harrison’s poignant words, “all we can do is learn to swim,” Harvey captures the essence of grief through images that evoke a sense of presence amidst absence. Each wave depicted carries a familiarity, yet none are ever the same, mirroring the ebb and flow of emotions experienced in the wake of loss.
Through his work, Harvey invites viewers to pause, to slow down, and to reflect. He encourages them to be mindful of the space surrounding both themselves and the artwork, urging them to be fully present in the moment they find themselves in.
