Liv Bilton has created a multisensory installation to portray the ADHD experience. She has done this by using colour and text which can catch the viewers eye and be direct about the concept. The space has been adjusted to show the upside-down visualising that neurodivergent people experience. She aims to make the viewer feel a lack of control when they view the installation. The video piece does this with its fast videos and text that represent her thoughts. The video piece is placed in the centre; it displays the struggle of sleep and the constant thoughts. Bilton has included textured letters that are suspended from above. These letters are difficult to understand unless you stand at the central anamorphic point that is marked out. Ultimately, Liv Bilton’s work is called ‘Dear Neurotypical World’ because the aim of her installation is to unglorify neurodivergent conditions and show that it can be frustrating to live with.
