Exploring ideas of personal rituals and how they take influence and find space in the ‘sacred’ landscapes we roam, Mae Garvey brings together textiles, poetry, film and mysterious ‘found objects’. There is a worshipping of the slow, mundane and soft nature of the intentional observation of everyday sensations such as light, warmth and touch. Here the artist draws parallels between walking, stitching, sitting and reflecting, all quietly powerful and increasingly essential acts against neoliberalism and consumerism.
