Opal is to be regarded as an avant-garde light installation made from Capiz shells for The Kip, an eco-conscious hotel based in Sri Lanka. Capiz shells are a wasted by-product of the seafood industry but, when utilised, have the potential to be a sustainable and economically viable resource.
Opal’s purpose is to encourage the inclusion of ‘waste materials’ and enhance awareness of the latest innovation; biomaterials.
