Georgia Connor’s project looks at the origins of pole dancing and the stereotypes and prejudices strippers and sex workers face everyday. As a pole dancer Connor believes it is important not to glamourise or erase stripping in the pole community. She aims to educate people and allow people to reflect and evaluate their own judgements and thoughts around this. She uses photography and text to portray images of pole dancers alongside quotes from dancers about their views and comments they have received.
