The Ecohum Fridge

The Ecohum Fridge is an innovative approach to the recreation of a modern-day fridge. This is a sustainability project helping reduce the amount of food waste produced by domestic households. Trung Le-Hoang‘s project uses Peltier technology that uses the thermoelectric effect to create moisture in a gaseous form in an enclosure which another term for it would be humidity.

Prolonging the food shelf life is possible using humidity, as food types prefer different humidity percentage levels such as meats prefer 70% humidity. Taking this information, Le-Hoang has produced a conceptual product that allows the user to choose zones of the product to store their food.
